Minor in Food Studies
The Minor in Food Studies is designed to enhance a number of major courses of study. It is especially good for students who have an interest in the food industry, tourism, journalism/RTVF, health
science, education, or for students who just want to know more about food.
This program provides students with knowledge of the social and cultural factors that influence food choices, individual and social understandings of the meanings of food, and the sustainability of food systems, as well as a basic introduction to the general concepts of nutrition.
The minor includes 18 units of upper-division coursework, including up to 9 units of upper-division GE courses that can double count for GE and the Minor. Internships are also available.
